This year has come at everyone hard, but we can finish it STRONG if we just pause a moment to reflect on the good things of old. Memories of years by way of old photos, old cookbooks, old catalogs or magazines, and mostly time spent reading the Old and New Testament. Christmas is a time of sharing, caring and loving. It blessed my heart that our precious teen wanted to pull out the old train and place it under the tree this year. The train now twenty years old is a reminder of our first born grandsons Christmas, and a reminder of youngest one crawling on her tummy at seven months to look at the train on the tracks. We had a laugh last night as we went to see some amazing Christmas trees on a local trail. We chuckled about how loud noises were disturbing to her most of her toddler years, but that train was pure joy. While we took view of these beautiful trees that represented memories of dear friends loved ones, it was a heartwarming sentimental moment in time.
This year so may have suffered loss, pain and hardship. Life has a way of
changing and rearranging schedules when least expected. Maybe if for a moment,
a day, a week or the remainder of 2020, we can all pause and take time to
reflect on the old. It will bring pleasantries to the table when shared with
loved ones. Pull out that old scrap book, family heirloom and relish new
memories for the next generations to come. Take time to make time and don’t let
a moment be wasted. Blessings from our heart and home to yours…
(Exodus 12:14 Now this day will be a memorial to you,
and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations
you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.}
