It's How You Live!

How you live is a title to a great song by 'Point of Grace', and the words can be liberating to the one who is facing a crossroad. A great sentence in the song; “It’s not who you knew, it’s now what you did, but it’s how you live”. This year’s journey has allowed us to realize the importance of just learning how to live is essential. Taking daily walks or just sitting before the Lord is both refreshing and relaxing. Learning how to live is taking time to enjoy the most mundane events in life and can bring pure joy to your day!

Here are some examples.

· Taking time out to watch God’s creation; birds and squirrels laboring before the father winter arrives.
· Stopping at the fence to chat with a neighbor or taking a moment to speak with someone in the marketplace.
· Driving with the window rolled down and let the fresh air blowing. Fresh Wind!
· Making a jug of good ole sweet tea or lemonade to share a glass with another.
· Planning life filled with dreams and hope, don’t spend life looking back to the past.
· Praying for the needy, the weary and the broken hearted. Taking time to encourage one another.
· Spending quiet time when your day is so busy with all of the responsibilities of life.
· Meditating upon His word morning, noon and nightfall, giving Him praise in the midst of every situation.

Make your own list but remember one important thing; that is listening with your heart, eyes and ears. We can hear, but all too often fail to listen. We can see, but often fail to envision. We can touch, but at times manage to be distracted. Will you take time this week watch, hear and touch the beauty that surrounds your daily life? You will find in those quiet walks or moments of stillness; a hush or whisper of the wind will help invigorate your spirit.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 “We urge you… that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.”
