Grafted in the Vine

In reading John 15:1-27 being cut off from the vine can be quite painful, and yet necessary for new growth. (v. 1-3 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.”). Lately the pruning hurts and it seems like this season is ongoing, but God is still the master gardener and His word is still very much alive and sharper than any two edged sword. In need of the miraculous in our family is our daily prayer and petition. God is still able to move these ominous mountains we are facing and I imagine many feel the same way at times. Just knowing we are not abandoned or struck down is an important remembrance. We should continue in His love and bear much fruit. While some of the olive tree branches are being trimmed or cut off; it’s important to remain grafted in the vine. Forever rooted in His love! The condition of our hearts by faith is that we continue to abide (stay the course) no matter how grueling it gets! Quiet time of rest and reflection is needed this day; pausing before the Lords throne of grace God in prayer and study. Let God arise in your day and His enemies be scattered. May you have a prune productive proven day. He loves you!
