Coarse Jesting

 Coarse Jesting Def: the action of saying or doing something for amusement.

What is the hidden meaning behind “coarse jesting” or even “jesting” in Ephesians 5:4?”

And there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Ephesians 5:4

Is it borderline bullying in some cases? The internet has a lot of back and forth mumbo jumbo of misleading accusations, pointing fingers and making fun of another’s plight. While jesting can be a little joke about someone; bullying goes way overboard making fun of someone. All too often, I have to check and recheck the attitude of my heart, and want to show kindness to all, as hard as that can be at times... The garments worn are a display of our love for the Lord. My personal goal of journaling is to keep upbeat, positive and encouraging writings of hope for others to read along life’s journey. There are too many wounded lives that are suffering and struggling because someone has either bullied, harassed or just simply made a fun of them or their lifestyle. When our thoughts are surrendered to a lifestyle and love for God, our speech and our walk will be radically different. At times, we may fall, but He is there waiting to pick us up. At times we must question whether a story is even worth passing on at all? We need to be our brothers (sisters) keepers, and the Lord is calling us all to a higher standard of living. We are not perfect, we have all fallen and He is the One who picks us up, dusts us off and points us down the path of life. Be an encourager, be a friend to the friendless, help the less fortunate, be a voice for the voiceless. Be You in Him!!! (John 17:23)
